GEN UK is preparing to hold the 3rd Startup Planet conference coinciding with the UN’s COP meetings. This year we have teamed up with the University of Birmingham Dubai to co-host Mobility Futures Forum on their campus from 7-9 December. Over 3 days we are running plenary sessions and workshops with entrepreneurs, policy makers, investors, educators and researchers. Centred around sustainable mobility, the big conversation will cover the future of green transport, energy, charging, skills, accelerators, innovation and entrepreneurship education.

Earlier this year, GEN UK launched LeZero Innovation Prize, a competition for startups to share their net zero mobility solutions. Entrepreneurs from 32 countries across the GEN network submitted their ideas. At the GEC in Melbourne in September, we announced 16 going through to the semi-finals. And we have just revealed the final five from New Zealand, Congo, Hungary, UK, and Spain, who will be presenting during the Mobility Futures Forum. The inaugural LeZero Innovation Prize global awards will take place on 9th December at a ceremony at the University of Birmingham Dubai.

Led by Professor Clive Roberts’ team workshops will include groups from Institute of Physics, World Bank, UN ESCAP, UITP, Inter-American Development Bank, AtkinsRealis, Alstom, and Road Transport Authority, DT Global, UIC and Hardt Hyperloop. Plenary contributors include speakers from Department for Business and Trade, One Earth, General Motors, Al-Futtaim, Customized Energy Solutions, DHBW Heilbronn, University of Birmingham, in5 Dubai, Digital Excellence Bridge DeXB, Startupscale360 FZE, Oxentia and InMotion.

Among the Forum audience will be over 60 companies and organisations who are part of the British Chambers of Commerce COP28 delegation along with entrepreneurs, educators, policy makers, investors and students.
